Picture

A article sometimes has a picture with it to go with it. and it is not just a random picture, it has a meaning. If i wrote a paper about the market crashing and how the people have been suffering in the economy, I would use a picture that shows a airplane on its side saying Market and it is about to crash into the ground. Though the topic of most articles are not that easy to come up with. I bet you would not get a topic you want to do most of the time. You will have to write a paper that is given to you.
Most of the time a article could be turn into a drawing. A article could be written up about a drawing by using the writing style analyze. Analyze goes into detail about a subject and you have to really study up on the topic and see both sides of the topic.
A picture can have little messages inside of the drawing this is called symbolism. The airplane in my subject represents the market and it is free-falling out of the sky which means it is crashing so it shows you the market crashing. So you see the topic of the paper in the Picture but if I went into more detail, I could see the subjects I could write about. Like the airplane is going to crash into a middle class neighborhood. So if i did that it shows that this Market crash is effecting the middle class more.

Opinion

You have different sections in a newspaper and one of them is Opinion. And the opinion section is what is the title says, it is your opinion on the issue. It can be research and well written but there is a reason why it is in the opinion section of the newspaper, it is what the writer is thinking about.
When I think of opinions, I think of those crazy sci-fi magazines that say bazaire things. Like Aliens are coming to the world and we should take cover from their beams. Or Elvis still lives and he is just living in a secret place, and my favorite topic Area 51.
Though the Opinion section of a newspaper have more serious topics about the worlds input and what we should do next and sometimes about politics. We should always give it a good quick read and if you like it, look at it in more depth or research the problem.
A jouralist is just trying to make you read what they are talking about (it is what they are paid for) and you see that is my opinion. I can say what I want about a topic because this is an opinion paper.

Narrating

A good writing style of an article is narrating. Narrating is narrate what you did, like a farmer would narrate what his problems were and show the facts to back it up. It can show you that problems are every where. It may not be the big oil spill that happen last week but it can help us solve the problem. We can understand problems that happen in farming or what farming can do. Like in the article written by Danny Mayer
You can see what farming used to be and now what it has come too. In the great depression, farming was a very big job source during these times. But now with technology we have shrunk it down to size, what used to be a fifty men job is now a one man job. It is all due to technology.
It can always be a good thing and a bad thing for technology but narrating a article can show you one side or other. He can favor how we should go back to a fifty men job or we should keep moving forward and help men with technology. That is the purpose of an article to show you the problem and the writers side to the problem. Though you can not just say what you want (unless you are in the opinion section of the newspaper), you must look up information to back up your paper and make the reader think you know what you aare talking about and support you.

Articles

Articles is a very different writing style then anything i have every learned. It is very different from writing a story. You have to follow didferent types of rules, you can not write about anything you want. You have to follow what information you have. It is a fiction kind of writing. You have a limited word set you have maybe a thousand or two words.
You can have different types of writing styles and that will be explained later in this series. Articles are a good way to learn about what is going on in our world today. However, articles are more difficult to write, you must do a lot of research on the topic you want to do. If a jourlist was writing about college life in Kentucky, he would most likely have to research stress related things or even go interview some people that go to college. The best source of information is either from a book in a library because it is the truth on the subject or an actually person.
We can see the subject (stress college life) at its source and interview people. Interviewing is when you go talk to somebody about there time in the subject you are writing about. Most of the time a good place to interview someone is an elderly person about the war and what they do not tell you about.
With articles it is a great knowledge of problems that can help us in the future and know what is going on in our world and society. Books may be a good read but articles is what us move on in the world.

Describe

In the dark ages, there were castles. Castles had rooms and such that had specific names. If I was writing I just could not say Jonathan walked down from the long ramp to the trading area. I would have to look up castles online or in a book and see what they called these areas. So it would be Jonathan walked down from the bulwark to the bazaar.
It is better for you to know more and make your character more realistic than just saying he would a green shirt. You could say he wore a pale green tunic that match his pallid face as his bright green eyes sharpen and shown even more. The brown breeches (pants) with a tear at the bottom revealing his leather brown shoes.
Everything is determine on the description of a story. I would not say the dew began to freeze on the grass. I would say the *hoar-frost* crunch underneath the travelers foot.
Everything is better when you use a more unique and proper describing word.
You can even describing the scenery, the emotions of two people, or even the senses. We can never cut out describing something.
i love looking up new words and learning what they mean and try to remember most of them. It makes your story want to be read and look up new words at that. A story without description would only be a plot, do not leave anything out that you think you must describe.

Realism

If you want to write about something, you have to first be realistic. i could not talk about how a Minotaur could take down a fort. A minotaur is if a bull could walk as a human. I would have to be realistic and the mix of imagination and realism is how a book is made. A book would be utter chaos if the whole time it was fighting and rampages. It has to mix with a story and what you created.
I first wrote a hundred-thirty-two page story when I was in seventh grade and it was utter chaos. I just wrote what I believe was amazing that blew my mind. I realize in high school from writing different stories that I needed to expand from fighting and focus more on the story. If I can write a story anyone can.
People can do anything they want if they put their minds to it. A good way to make a plot expand is to make a bulletin chapter log. Just talk about the vague details of the chapter in bulletin form and what happens. Then after awhile you will have the beginning, middle, and end. Everything in writing can be broken down into a web or log.
We over think ideas as I fall under this too. I want to make the chapters more insane that it will pop out of the page but it could confuse people and be even harder to explain. Like saying The hero fell to the floor dodging his enemy's attack, he dodge once more then another and he reached for his fallen sword and sliced his enemy down. I could of just said and been more precise, The hero dodges the enemy's attack with a riposte to a stab to the gut. it may not be better but the reader could have a easier way to understand what is going on.
If something is made up it has to be balanced equally with a realistic traits.

Species

What could stop you from making a new species of mammal. You could have a creature with the face of a lion, ears of a bat, and a shape of the head as a mouse. you could make anything reality. Do not think that everything is limited or what your thinking is too extreme. If you want to believe a new type of creature is good in your story or imagination then do it.
Anything can be created in your mind, and I believe what you think in your mind will stick better to someone who wants to read sci-fi. What are you going to remember more a vampire who emotionally depress or a weird lion-bat-mouse combo creature?
Though sometimes people do not change enough, they give a same plot but different names. I believe what ever comes to your mind first you stick with it.
If you want a rabbit who has the abilty to breath fire then do it. I think i would be more scared of that then a real dragon, atleast I can hide from a dragon but the bunny is smaller than me.
If you are going to make a new species do not do what i just did make up a character in three seconds. If you are going to make it research it. Every writer had to research something to make sure what they are describing or telling is what it would look like.
You have to imagine, but you have to be realistic.
